You’ve probably seen the term or heard it mentioned from time to time. Still, you’re not quite certain what spiritual direction is all about. You’re not alone, since most of us are unfamiliar with this expression.
In spiritual direction, a trained director listens to another person’s sacred story with openness and compassion. The goal of spiritual direction is to help someone grow in their awareness of God, discover how God is working in their life, and where God is speaking to them.
Come Tuesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. to Cornelius Hall, when Bob Burnham, OFS, will introduce us to this practice. Bob, who is a Secular Franciscan and a trained spiritual director, is the author of Little Lessons from the Saints. He also ministers here at Resurrection as a lector and catechist.
