All Resurrection’s Faith Formation Programs are intended to lead the children to prayer and intimacy with Jesus, as well as teach our Catholic traditions and nurture the desire to live out beliefs in acts of service, social justice, and love of neighbor.

Faith Formation registration forms for next year’s programs will be posted on our website on Monday, May 1, 2017.  All families who have participated this year will also receive the form via email. If you are new to our parish or if you have a child/youth in grades K—9 who is new to faith formation, please download the form from our website.  You may also stop by our parish offices or contact Diane Downey via email to request a registration form. Please know that by submitting your form early, you not only save on the cost but also have the best selection of class days and times!

Children's Faith Formation at Resurrection Catholic Church Wayne, ILThe Elementary Faith Formation Program seeks to be a balanced combination of formation in faith and spiritual life through experiences of prayer, service, and friendship; and schooling in the Catholic teachings through Lectionary- (Sunday Scripture) based instruction. Faith Formation Sessions for children grades K-6 generally are scheduled weekly from mid-September through April.

At the appropriate age level, children prepare for the first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. Parents, with training and assistance, are the chief instructors and mentors in this preparation. Celebrations of First Communion take place at regularly scheduled weekend liturgies in May.
