All couples must contact the rectory at least six months prior to their wedding in order to participate in a marriage preparatory course.
The course is designed to foster each couples intimacy, sharing, giving and communication. It is held one day a week (usually on a Sunday afternoon) for six weeks. Each session lasts about two hours. Because the programs focus is you (plural), both parties are expected to attend all six sessions.
When circumstances prevent attendance at the above sessions, couples may choose to attend an Engaged Encounter Weekend sponsored by the Center for Family Ministry of the Diocese of Joliet. They are held one weekend per month except during June, July and August.
Our Director of Worship and Director of Music conduct a Wedding Workshop to facilitate the planning of your wedding liturgy. This session is typically held on a Saturday morning in February or March. During that time you will learn about music selection, the environment, selection of readings and the movement of the liturgy, such as the procession, exchange of vows and so on.
For further information, contact the Liturgy Office at (630) 289-5400, ext. 217.
