Events Calendar
All Souls Day is the day we set aside to pray for all the dead who have gone before us. The church gathers on this day to give voice to our hope for them and rejoice in their faithfulness.
All Souls Day reminds us that it is good to speak about the dead and to remember them. The Church, the people of God, continues the remembrance throughout the month of November. Christians often visit the graves of their loved ones during this time, often placing flowers or an evergreen wreath – the ancient crown of victory over death and a reminder of the promise of eternal life. Others burn a candle near the picture of a deceased, while still others give alms to the poor or make a donation in honor of their loved one. Most importantly we gather at Mass to pray and remember.
On Friday, November 2nd, Masses will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. During the 7:00 p.m. liturgy we will remember those who were buried from our parish this past year.
