MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Christian Formation Commission of Resurrection Catholic Community, are dedicated to providing for the spiritual formation of the entire community by offering opportunities that foster a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and an awareness of the Mission of God’s people in building and living God’s Kingdom. Our work will:

  • Be filled with the spirit of the Gospel
  • Call forth the God – given gifts of the entire community
  • Result in a spiritual community that understands the value of Christian faith formation of all ages, lives the values of Catholic Tradition and seeks to continually enrich, educate, and renew itself.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A COMMISSION MEMBER

  • Attend monthly Commission meetings and agree to a 3 – year term
  • Contribute to the development of new programs and policies as needed
  • Implement and follow Diocesan directives
  • Evaluate and assess existing programs, policies and goal
  • Reflect the vision of the Second Vatican Council
  • Participate in spiritual and community formation events and volunteer for ministry events
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members

For current Chair and contact information, please see the Directory Page in the front of this handbook. The Commission is comprised of staff members and parishioners. We invite you to come and sit in at one of our meetings.

Our Commission invites input from all parishioners. If a parishioner has an item of interest or concern to share with the Commission a request may be made to address the Commission by contacting the Commission Chair.  All such requests should be made at least one week prior to the next scheduled meeting to allow for proper scheduling and adjusting of the agenda.

MEETING TIME & LOCATION

The Commission usually meets monthly on Monday at the Parish Office. Time varies in accordance with availability of the members and needs of staff. Revised February 2021
