Does faith come in sizes, like shoes or shirts or socks?

Small? Medium? Large?

St. Paul’s faith was extra-large---nothing, but nothing Could separate him from God’s love.

Peter’s faith more questionable; it struggled to embrace suffering and death.

Poor Thomas, a world class doubter, would believe only on hard evidence.

But then there are those in life who have no shoes or shirts or socks, nothing to wear or eat or drink, who have no faith.

Jesus has a special love for them— we ought to, too.

Lent begins on February 14th with Ash Wednesday, a season for prayer, fasting and alms giving. Resurrection’s “We Care Fund”  helps support parishioner families who cannot afford to pay for faith formation classes. In addition, monies from the “We Care Fund” have helped with medical expenses, auto repairs, rent and trash collection fees for local families. During Lent one might consider donating their Lenten Alms. The collection on Ash Wednesday is part of the funding for the “We Care Fund” but you may also donate in the Alms Box located in the Narthex behind the registration desk. Also, white envelopes labeled “We Care Fund---Lenten Alms will be available in the narthex for you to use throughout and at the end of Lent. May your Lenten Journey bring you closer to God.
